These terms govern your use of the services provided by Diona Chu, trading as Diona The Trainer (ABN 54 766 785 542). By engaging with the services — including booking a private session, enrolling in an online program, joining the mentorship program, or partnering as a breeder — you agree to these terms.
1. Acceptance of terms
By using the website or any service offered by Diona The Trainer, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and agree to be bound by them. If you don't agree, please don't use the services.
2. Services offered
Diona The Trainer offers:
- Private dog training sessions, in person in Melbourne and virtually worldwide.
- Multi-session training programs (typically 4 weeks or 7 weeks).
- Online programs, currently the Good Puppy Blueprint, delivered through a third-party platform.
- The Mentorship Program for current and aspiring dog trainers (theory, practical, and business modules).
- Breeder partnerships providing the Good Puppy Blueprint to puppy families.
- Seminars, talks, and educational content.
Service descriptions, inclusions, and prices on the website are accurate at the time of publication and may be updated without notice. The version of the service quoted to you at the time of booking applies.
3. User obligations
By engaging with the services, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, complete information when enquiring or enrolling.
- Treat Diona, any other participants, and any session locations with respect.
- Manage your dog safely during sessions, including using appropriate equipment and following safety instructions.
- Disclose any history of aggression or bite incidents before the first session.
- Respect the confidentiality of mentorship cohort discussions.
- Not redistribute, share login details for, or republish online program content (see Section 7).
4. Payment terms
Payment is made by direct bank transfer or by another method specified on the invoice. Invoices are sent by email and are due in line with the terms stated on the invoice. Specifically:
- Private sessions are payable in full prior to the session unless otherwise agreed.
- Multi-session programs are payable in full at the start of the program, unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing.
- Online programs are payable in full at enrolment.
- Mentorship: Part 1 is payable in full at enrolment. Part 2 is payable in full at least 30 days before the practical block begins. Payment plans are available on request.
- Breeder partnerships are payable in full to activate program access for the entire litter.
Late payments may attract a reasonable administration fee and may delay or suspend service delivery.
5. Refunds and cancellations
Private sessions: To move or cancel a booked session, please give at least 48 hours notice. Cancellations or rescheduling requests made within 48 hours of the session attract a 100% cancellation fee. Sessions cancelled more than 2 calendar days before the booked time can be rescheduled to a mutually agreeable time within 2 weeks of the original booked date.
Multi-session programs: Once the first session is delivered, the program fee is non-refundable. Remaining sessions can be rescheduled with reasonable notice, in line with the private session rule above.
Online programs: Due to the digital nature of the content, online programs are non-refundable once access has been provided. Exceptions are made on a case-by-case basis if access has not been used.
Mentorship: The Mentorship Program is non-refundable and non-transferable once enrolled, regardless of the part purchased.
Breeder partnerships: Non-refundable once payment has been processed and program access has been activated for the litter.
If a session or program is cancelled by Diona The Trainer for any reason, a full refund or rescheduling will be offered.
6. Online program access and support
Online programs are delivered through a third-party platform. Access is granted for the period stated at the time of enrolment. Reasonable efforts are made to keep the platform available, but uptime is not guaranteed and may be subject to scheduled maintenance or third-party outages.
Support is provided by email. Personal video check-in calls included in a program must be booked within the access period.
7. Intellectual property
All content created by Diona The Trainer — including videos, written material, training plans, mentorship materials, and methodologies — is owned by Diona Chu and protected by Australian copyright law. You are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own learning. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, or republish any of this content, in whole or in part, without prior written permission.
8. Disclaimers
Dog behaviour is influenced by many factors, including genetics, history, environment, and the consistency of the handler. While Diona The Trainer brings extensive experience and a proven methodology, no specific outcome is guaranteed. Results depend in part on the time, effort, and follow-through you commit to.
Information provided on the website or in sessions is general in nature and does not replace veterinary advice. If your dog has a medical or veterinary issue, please consult a registered veterinarian.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, Diona Chu trading as Diona The Trainer is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from the use of the services, including loss of income, opportunity, or amenity. Liability for any direct loss is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant service.
Nothing in these terms excludes any rights or remedies you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify Diona Chu trading as Diona The Trainer from any third-party claim arising from your dog's behaviour during or as a result of services delivered, except to the extent the claim is caused by Diona's negligence.
11. Privacy policy
Personal information is handled in line with the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Any dispute will be dealt with by the courts of Victoria.
13. Changes to terms and conditions
These terms may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be flagged on the website. Continued use of the services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
